THE SCHOOL OFFICE
The school office is known as being the HUB of the school. All phone calls for staff come through here, which makes it very busy all day. There are seven members altogether. There is Cathy Strachan the AFA (Administrative and Financial Assistant). Cathy works closely with the Head Teacher, dealing with all financial matters. Dorothy Gaffney is the Senior Clerkess. She works closely with the AFA and distributes work to the rest of the office. Margaret McAdam, Margaret Aitken, Fiona Boyce and Alison McGuire are the other clerkesses. Marie Brown is the clerkess for the Dance School of Scotland.
Ann McCabe is in Reprographics. This is one person the school relies on heavily. The volume of work that passes through her hands is stupendous. The office deals with pupils, parents, teachers, members of the public and heads of the Dept. of Education. The pupil registers are dealt with twice daily. That is a full time job in itself , keeping track of every pupil in the school. All requisitions from members of staff pass through here as well as invoices and accounts. Dorothy is also the school's First Aider. This keeps her very busy too. There is a great working atmosphere in the office and we all enjoy working here.
Photocopying Facilites for Staff
Staff enjoy the use of two high-spec. photocopying machines which are available all day. Each department allocates an amount of per capita and a password is used to monitor use. These copiers are capable of re-sizing, collating and copying to both sides. Todays courses rely heavily on the use of these machines and staff can copy material for use on the same day.
